I’m thrilled to announce that in less than 3 weeks Sheep(ish) will be in 20, Michaels test stores! I need your help, though. If the first Stitch.Rock.Love yarn doesn’t do well at these stores, then it wont get picked up for the rest of their stores in the future. I would really love to get permanent placement in ALL Michaels stores. If you live near any of the test stores, please pop in and buy a ball…or 10. ;-) It should be on shelves by September 20th. I really appreciate it!

Psst! Tell a friend.

xx, Vickie

This week’s amigurumi pattern brings you not one, but two adorable little dolls designed by Tracie Barrett.  Don’t they look like they are ready to head back to school?  You can get really creative with these dolls and change up their hair and clothes so that they become a miniature replica of your little student!

BOY AND GIRL AMIGURUMIS

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Amigurumi measures approximately 4”/10cm high while sitting down

YARN: Caron International’s Simply Soft:

For Boy:  #0001 Vanilla (A), #9748 Rubine Red (B), #0004 Blueberry (C), #9750 Chocolate (D)

For Girl: #0001 Vanilla (A), #9945 Lemon (E), #9761 Plum Perfect (F), #9750 Chocolate (D)

CROCHET HOOK: One size US F-5 (3.75 mm), or size to obtain gauge.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS: Yarn needle, two 6mm safety eyes (per doll), fiberfill stuffing, stitch marker, smaller crochet hook for attaching hair

GAUGE: 20 sts and 24 rows sc = 4″/10cm. Exact gauge is not critical for this project, stitching should be tight.

STITCHES USED:  Chain (ch), Single crochet (sc)

SPECIAL TERMS:  sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.

To Change Color: Work sc until 2 loops remain on hook, drop first color, yarn over with 2nd color, draw through last 2 loops on hook.

NOTE: Do not join rounds. Place a marker in the last stitch of round and move up as rounds progress.

(Shown in color: Yellow(ish)

My latest Sheep(ish) design, the Lacy Daisy Ascot, is now available for free on Caron.com. It’s a 1-ball project so if you’ve been waiting for something small to make before you gave Sheep(ish) a try, then it’s time to pick up those sticks!

Lacy Daisy ads a pop of color to any outfit and makes a great gift item for teachers, girlfriends, and moms! It’ll only cost around $4 to make, but will look like a million bucks.

Enjoy!

Stitch.Rock.Love,
Vickie
