FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Amigurumi measures approximately 2”/5cm long when bent

 

YARN: Caron International’s Simply Soft: #9607 Limelight, #9727 Black (B)

 

CROCHET HOOK: One size US E-4 (3.5 mm), or size to obtain gauge.

 

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS:  Yarn needle, Fiberfill stuffing, Stitch marker, Pipe cleaner

 

GAUGE: 22 sts and 23 rows sc = 4″/10 cm. Exact gauge is not critical for this project, stitching should be tight.

 

STITCHES USED: Chain (ch), Single crochet (sc)

 

SPECIAL TERMS: sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.

 

NOTE: Do not join rounds. Place a marker in the last stitch of round and move up as rounds progress.

 

AMIGURUMI

With A, ch 2.

Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join—6 sc. Place marker in last stitch.

Rounds 2-9: Sc in each sc around.

Round 3: 2 sc in each sc around—12 sc.

Round 4: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—18 sc.

Rounds 5-6: Sc in each sc around. Cut pipe cleaner to 6”/15cm. Fold pipe cleaner in half, bend down points, insert into center of worm head. Stuff head.

Round 7: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next sc; repeat from * around—12 sc.

Round 8: [Sc2tog over next 2 sts] around—6 sc.

Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, weave through final rnd of sts, pull tight and secure.

 

FINISHING: Bend worm into shape. With yarn needle and B, straight st 2 eyes and back st mouth on worm head as pictured. Weave in ends. Roll in hands to evenly distribute stuffing.

Rounds 8-9: Repeat Round 7. Stuff the amigurumi and continue to stuff as work progresses.

Rounds 10-13: Sc in each st around

Round 14: Hdc in next st, 2 hdc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next 6 sts—12 sts.

Round 15: Hdc in each st around.

Round 16: Hdc in next st, [hdc2tog over next 2 sts] twice, hdc in next st, sc in next 6 sts—10 sts.

Rounds 17-18: Sc in each st around.

Round 19: *Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog over next 2 sts, repeat from * once, sc in next 2 sts—8 sc. Stuff

Rounds 20-22: Sc in each st around

Wing (make 2)

With A, repeat Rows 1-9 of inner ear. Do not fasten off.

Round 10: With inner and outer ear together, with right side of inner ear facing, matching sts, working through double thickness, sc evenly across first side of ear, work 3 sc in tip of ear, sc evenly across remaining side edge, fold bottom end in half, sc through folded end of ears, join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, sew ears to head as pictured.

 

FINISHING: With yarn needle and C, satin st 2 eyes on head as pictured. With D, straight st a pupil in center of each eye. With E, satin st nose on head as pictured. Weave in ends.

Petals

Round 1: Cut 1 1/2 yds of B and split. Join B with sc in any seam st on edge of flower centers, *5 dc in next st, sc in next st; repeat from * around, join with a sl st in first sc—9 petals. Fasten off.

Rows 2-3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across, turn—4 sc at end of last row.

Rows 4-5: Sc in each st across.

Rows 6-7: Repeat row 2—6 sc at end of last row.

Rows 8-9: Sc in each st across. Fasten off.

Outer ear (make 2)

With A, work same as inner ear through round 9. Do not fasten off. Place inner ear on top of outer ear, with inner ear facing, working through double thickness, matching row-end sts, ch 1, sc in each row-end st across to tip, 3 sc in tip, sc in each row-end st across other side of ear, fold flat end of ear in half, working through 4 thicknesses, sc 2 halves together.

Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, sew one ear to each side of head as pictured.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Amigurumi measures approximately 2”/5cm long when bent

YARN: Caron International’s Simply Soft: #9748 Rubine Red (A), #9727 Black (B), and #9607 Limelight (C): 1 skein

CROCHET HOOK: One size US E-4 (3.5 mm), or size to obtain gauge.

 

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS: Yarn needle, Two 6mm safety eyes, Fiberfill stuffing

Stitch marker

GAUGE: 22 sts and 23 rows sc = 4″/10 cm. Exact gauge is not critical for this project, stitching should be tight.

STITCHES USED: Chain (ch), Single crochet (sc),  Slip stitch (slip st)

SPECIAL TERMS: sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.

NOTE: Do not join rounds. Place a marker in the last stitch of round and move up as rounds progress.

 

AMIGURUMI

Tomato

With A, ch 2.

Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join—6 sc. Place marker in last stitch.

Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around—12 sc.

Round 3: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—18 sc.

Round 4: Sc in each sc around.

Round 5: *Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—24 sc.

Round 6: Sc in each sc around.

Round 7: *Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—30 sc.

Rounds 8-10: Sc in each sc around.

Round 11: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sc; repeat from * around—24 sc. Place eyes on tomato. With yarn needle and B, back st mouth on cherry as pictured. Stuff the amigurumi and continue to stuff as work progresses.

Round 12: Sc in each sc around.

Round 13: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sc; repeat from * around—18 sc.

Round 14: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next sc; repeat from * around—12 sc.

Round 15: [Sc2tog over next 2 sts] around—6 sc.

Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, weave through final rnd of sts, pull tight and secure.

 

Top

With C, leaving a long sewing length, *ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next 2 ch sts, sc in next 3 ch sts; repeat from * 4 times, sl st in first ch to close into a ring. Sew top on top of tomato.

 

FINISHING:  Weave in ends. Roll in hands to evenly distribute stuffing.

YARN: Caron International’s Simply Soft:

#9605 Mango (A), #9750 Chocolate (B), #9727 Black (C), #9748 Rubine Red (D), and #0001 Vanilla (E).

 

CROCHET HOOK: One size US B-1 (2.25mm).

 

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS: Yarn needle, Fiberfill stuffing, Stitch marker

 

GAUGE: Exact gauge is not critical for this project, stitching should be tight.

 

STITCHES USED: Chain (ch),  Single crochet (sc),  Slip stitch (slip st)

 

SPECIAL TERMS: sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.

Round 4: *Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—24 sc.

Rounds 5-10: Sc in each st around

Round 11: *Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog over next 2 sts, repeat from * around—18 sc. Stuff the amigurumi and continue to stuff as work progresses.

Round 12: *Sc in next st, sc2tog over next 2 sts * 6 times—12 sc.

Round 13: [Sc2tog over next 2 sts] around. Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, weave through final rnd of sts, pull tight and secure.

 

Ear (make 2)

With A, ch 2.

Round 1: Ch 2, 5 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, whipstitch ears to side of head towards the back.

 

Muzzle (make 2)

With A, ch 5.

Round 1: 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 hdc in last ch, working across opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in last ch, join with sl st in top of first hdc—10 sts.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. Stuff muzzle lightly. Whipstitch to lower front center of head.

 

Mane

Cut 1 yd of B and split. With B and yarn needle and working around posts of all sts over back, top and sides of head, around face as pictured, make loops approx 1/4”/6mm long.

 

FINISHING: With C, work 2 French knots for eyes and satin st nose; with D, straight st a mouth; with E, work one chain st over each eye as pictured.
